                                 Chapter Eleven: Distorted Image

Lex wasn't at all the least worried about what would happen the next day, he simply wanted to keep his life normal and still hang out with his friends. But little did he know that things would change, and that regardless how strong he wanted to keep some friendships, some of them were going to crumble.

At the Prower's house...

Lex rushed quickly out of the house and onto the bus as he adjusted the new grey leather jacket and bookbag on his back. The grey fox rushed onto the yellow vehicle and then sat into a seat, letting out a sigh of relief for finally catching the bus. He sat back in his seat and watched out the window as the bus began to move, taking him away from his house. After a couple of minutes, they arrived at the bus section and the door quickly opened. All of the students stepped off of the bus and Lex slowly began to walk towards the school. 'Now hopefully I can get myself something to eat before class starts.' he thought. As he walked into the cafeteria however, he noticed lots of posters of Sledge and the rest of his group plastered with smirks and grins. "The Chrome Steel Revolvers... playing tonight at eight o'clock at the Gatlon Center. The best rockstars are the ones that travel." he read outloud.

He began to look at it with disgust as he looked closer at Sledge's grin and was about to go off and get in the breakfast line when he bumped into Lilly. "Aren't they dreamy?" the red bunny asked. Lex arched an eyebrow and then looked back at the poster, "What? You mean those guys? What in the world is so special about them? They're just another rockband." he remarked. Lilly shook her head quickly and then clasped her hands together. "They're more than a rockband. These guys are just on another level... I can't explain it." the teenage rabbit continued. Lex sighed, "If you say so. I'm going to their concert tonight, to see what these guys are really like." the grey fox remarked. Lilly smiled warmly, "Can I come with? you know I always wanted to see these guys perform here in my hometown. And besides, I got a ticket to go to their show after I became their tour yesterday around the school." she requested. Lex began walking into the breakfast line and grabbed a tray. "Ehhh... sure, why not?" he said quickly and grabbed himself a honeybun. "Ooo thank you. I'll be ready by six thirty tonight, so you can pick me up then." the bunny remarked and then grabbed a tray herself.

A few hours later...
Lex was in his fifth period english class, trying to read his text book to do another assignment. Suddenly another burst of girls screaming broke the silence as the class door opened and Sledge walked into the room. Lex only glared at the grey wolf as he adjusted his black leather jacket. The teacher rolled her eyes as she expected for an outburst from the supposedly cocky grey wolf. "This is English class right? Mrs. Bowers?" the grey wolf asked kindly. This caused Lex to arch an eyebrow and the teacher to nod, showing that she was impressed. "Yes it is..." she began and looked at her roll, trying to find the new student's name. "... Mr. Rogers... Please, take a seat." the teacher ordered. The grey wolf simply nodded and then sat three seats across from the Lex. Sledge looked over at a brown racoon next to him and then smirked. "Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to know what assignment we're doing do you?" he asked. The brown raccoon blushed deeply as she looked at the rockstar. "Well we... uhh... are on page..." she began, when another voice cut her off. "Page twenty-three." a soft voice remarked. The grey wolf glanced slightly over to his right, passed Lex, and noticed it was a brown vixen that had answered for him. "Ah... thank you." he said and then took out a textbook from his bookbag. He put it onto his desk and then turned to the page that the brown vixen had told him. Lex looked over at Kio and then eyed her, trying to figure out why would he help him.

But as the class continued to go on, Lex realized that what he originally thought about the rock star was wrong. Sledge had volunteered to read most of the passage, and he participated in most of the questions, actually showing that he paid attention to what he was doing. Not only did this impress most kids in the room, but it also made others hate him more. As the bell rung for class to be over, Sledge quickly closed his book and then put it into his bookbag. "Thank you so much Mr. Rogers for participating in the class." the teacher beamed. He stood up from his seat and gave a grin, "It was nothing, any regular student can do it, why can't I?" he asked. The wolf walked out of the classroom and into the massive moving body of students that were trying to get to their next class. Kio and Lilly walked to Lex, "I knew he was a dreamboat." the rabbit began. "Ehh... not half bad, I have to say I'm impressed. Thought he was going to be a slimeball, but he seems polite and kind, as well as smart." Kio finished. Lex just nodded, "Yeah... seems so..." he remarked. As the three friends exited out of the room, all three of them went separate ways, going to different classes. "I'll catch you guys later." Lilly remarked and walked a different direction. "I'll see ya Lex." Kio said quickly and went another way.

As Lex started for the cafeteria for Study Hall, he heard a laugh in the corridor. "Are you kidding? Did you raise your hand to speak to me? Get out of my face punk!" the voice remarked from around the corner. Lex reached around the corner to see Sledge push a slightly bigger student than him. Students began to stop and stare at the confrontation in the middle of the hallway, whispering amongst themselves on what probably was going on. "Yo, I said stop messing with my girlfriend chump!" the random student yelled, despite the fact he was pushed away. "Listen you worthless dog, if you're girlfriend came to me, she isn't worth being your girlfriend now is she? Don't waste my time with that drama crap kid, I got a class to go to. Deal with that relationship drama on your own time with your own slut." the wolf remarked and then turned around to walk to the cafeteria. The tan dog only bared his teeth and then arched his arm back to throw a hard punch at him, trying to hit Sledge from behind. Lex began running towards the scuffle and tried his quickest to stop the fight. But as Lex saw Sledge glance behind him, he knew there was more to the rockstar than what met his eye. Sledge quickly turned around and immediately blocked the punch with his right arm, as well as pushing him back into a wall and then pressing his left arm against the dog's neck, all in one swift motion.

Just as Sledge brought his arm back to punch the dog out of consciousness, Lex held Sledge's arm and then looked into his eyes. "Is there a problem?" the grey fox asked in a serious tone. The grey wolf looked deep into Lex's eyes, at first about to swing at him and then beat him down for interfering with his business. But he quickly saw the hard stare that Lex gave, a stare that told Sledge that Lex was not the one to play around. Sledge thought better of the situation and then eased his left arm from the dog's neck. He then shook his right arm from Lex's grasp and then adjusted his leather jacket. "No... there isn't a problem. Just a lousy complaint." the rockstar began and then walked towards the door to enter the cafeteria. The dog was breathing heavily, and Lex took noticed that he was holding the area where Sledge's forearm was pushing against his neck quite hard, and he had done it very quickly. 'This kid isn't a normal student... and now that I think about it... when has a high school student ever made it to stardom in the music business?' the grey fox thought to himself. Lex noticed that the dog began rubbing his neck and grumbled to himself, calling the rockstar ill names. The grey fox finally began walking towards the cafeteria doors as well, trying to make it to his next class before the bell rung.

He sat down at one of the long tables and then sat next to Tony. Lex looked at the orange fox as he saw him take out another manga issue. "Got what you need right here." the orange fox remarked with a grin. "Tony I find it very hard to believe, but today I can't even pay attention to that manga." he remarked. "What are you talking about? You like this series." Tony exclaimed and then put the book down on the table. "Yeah I know, but that new kid Sledge... I don't know what his deal is... and for some reason I don't like him." he mumbled. He was really talking to himself, but Tony was able to hear him. "You mean that guy?" Tony whispered and pointed at the grey wolf that was chatting with a couple of other guys wearing the same jacket. "Yeah... he's... I don't know the word for it." Lex replied. Tony shrugged, "I don't know, I haven't had any problems from him, so for now he's cool." he said. Lex turned away from Tony and then looked at the grey wolf as he emphasized hitting someone by punching his clenched fist into his palm and then laughing with his group of friends. 'Yeah... that's the problem. He's just soooo cool.' he thought.

                                              To Be Continued
Lex isn't concerned at all about the new talented student that enters his school. At first appearance, Lex believes him to be an arrogant jerk, but he soon founds out he's more educated than at first glance. But what can be Lex's problem then when he encounters him later on in the day?

Author's Notes:
Yeah that's right, taking a break from the past stuff... I haven't written about my main character for quite some time. Also I was dying to introduce Sledge, and so happen I never got the proper chance to. I'll put who belongs to who later.

sledge seems to be an impressive fighter. to pull off such reflexes and agility.and from what I can tell He pays attention in class to sharpen his mind. so to me he may seem like a arrogant jerk at first but. I think hes got a whole lot more then just fame in his history as lex pointed out since when do students become such famous rockstars. it seems to me Lex may have a rival. and most possibly a bad one, by sledges attitude with that dog.meaning he isnt the type to compromise unless there is a serious threat . like when he noticed Lex's serious face meaning he knows a challange when he sees it. I think this is getting a lot more interesting.
